Urinary incontinence - the management of urinary incontinence in women

The guideline provides guidance on the management of urinary incontinence in women.  This covers stress and mixed incontinence, and overactive bladder (wet or dry). 

Guidance on the following aspects of care will be provided:

  • Appropriate initial and ongoing assessments and investigations
  • Appropriate use of conservative treatment options (lifestyle modifications, behavioural interventions, physical therapies, containment, drug treatment)
  • Appropriate use of surgical options
  • The competencies required by surgeons performing the primary and subsequent operative procedures.
